3 Reasons to drink more water

In this simple steps blog I'm covering the topic of water and hydration. 

It's one of the easiest habits to start and really doesn't need to take up much time at all. Yet for a lot of people it can be one of the most difficult to actually get into a habit of consuming more water. 

It's so necessary, 60% of our body is made up of water and so for all of our cells to function optimally, it's it's a necessary requirement. Studies have shown that even mild dehydration can affect your focus, your concentration, how you perform physically. So it's necessary on a physical, mental, emotional level.
It's so very easy to get caught up in the day, rushing from one thing to another, maybe gasping for a cup of tea or grabbing an energy drink or something to keep going. And it's not just the pure water intake, fresh freshly prepared vegetables and other food have a lot of water content as well. If you don’t like just plain water, you can add squash or juice but of course too much sugary drinks can also have a detrimental effect. 

But today I'm just going to simply cover three reasons to drink more water and perhaps consider starting that as a habit that you implement. 

Firstly the mental benefits. 

The concentration, the focus when we're busy being able to do things efficiently and stay on track and keep your mind focused is really important. 

Secondly flushing out toxins.

Drinking more water boosts your immune system, the more you drink, the more toxins are going to be flushed out. You're going to be able to physiologically work more optimally, stay healthier. Again keeping you on track with everything you want to be doing rather than feeling run down. 

And thirdly, losing weight.

Something that often comes up with people when I take a holistic view with them is that they want to lose weight or they want to feel healthier, feel fitter. And it's very easy to mistake hunger for dehydration. A real simple step for promoting and supporting a weight loss program is to make sure you're drinking enough water. 

So three reasons to start drinking more water if you feel that is something that you don't do, that you're not doing enough of. In part two I'll talk more about simple ways to get started and also how it can be different for everybody.
